Unanswered Prayers

A couple of weeks ago I was reminded by my companion of one of my favorite songs. It was "Unanswered Prayers," by Garth Brooks. Elder Sharp shared it as a thought with a family that had recently been going through a hard time.  Recently I thought of that song again, I thought of the true meaning that Garth Brooks was trying to portray. "Some of Gods greatest gifts are unanswered prayers."

So many times in our lives we pray to Heavenly Father that a specific thing will happen in our lives.  Sometimes those prayers are not answered immediately or they are not answered as we think they should. We tend to want things right now and demand them to happen. But we forget who knows us best, our Heavenly Father! One of my favorite lines of the song is, "Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs that just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care."  God knows exactly what we need in our lives. Whether trials or times of joy. Either way He is in charge and all will turn out alright in the end.

I know that God lives and that he knows each one of us perfectly and he does answer prayers. When you feel as if your prayers are not being answered or no one is hearing your pleas. Remember, "Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers."
